Dorothy Gordon's Obituary
Dorothy Lucille Gordon, age 91, of Broken Arrow, OK, passed away on April 21, 2024. She was born on April 5, 1933, in Cherryvale, Kansas, to the late William Charles Sturgeon and Lucille Myrtle Gill. Dorothy was a beloved member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Wichita, Kansas.
Dorothy was a dedicated volunteer, always willing to lend a helping hand. She was actively involved in the PTA, organizing class parties, field trips, and contributing her creative talents to school projects. Dorothy was also a proud member of the women's philanthropic group PEO for over 50 years, holding various leadership positions within the organization.
In her career, Dorothy worked at Abercrombie Oil in Wichita, Kansas. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed hobbies such as cooking, cross-stitching, knitting, and crafting.
Dorothy is survived by her son Jeff Gordon, daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Brad Blackim, grandchildren Jennifer Lamarand, Jamie Blackim, Jodie Long, Jason Gordon, great-grandchildren Brandon and Brody Lamarand, niece Carol Moore, and nephews Randy and Richard Sturgeon. She was preceded in death by her brother Charles Erwin Sturgeon and husband Donald Ersel Gordon.
A memorial placement service will be held on May 18, 2024, at 11:00 am at Floral Haven, 6500 South 129th East Ave, Tulsa, OK 74012. Contributions in Dorothy's memory can be made to Cottey College in Nevada, MO.
