Dorothy McDonald's Obituary
Dorothy Ann McDonald, 91, peacefully passed away on June 28, 2018. Dorothy was born on February 12, 1927 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Ray (Wiggington) Lohness and Merritt S. Lohness. The family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma when Dorothy was one year old. Dorothy married James Daniel (Jim) McDonald just before he entered the navy during World War ll. Their son, John McDonald, was born in 1947. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Jim, her mother and father, and her sister, Mattie Frank Mathews. Dorothy is survived by her son, John McDonald, daughter-in-law Cynthia (Cindy) McDonald, grandchildren, David McDonald (Debi), Laura Brewer (Garrett), Alec McDonald (Destiny), great grandchildren, Emma McDonald, Lillian and Arlo Brewer, and Arwen McDonald, sisters-in-law, Melva McDonald, Helen Logins, Mary McDonald, Barbara Barrier and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy had her own custom drapery business in Tulsa for many years. Dorothy loved her dogs, loved to fish, enjoyed doing ceramics, was in a bowling league, and collected stamps. Dorothy was active as a choir member, was in missions education, and a nursery worker at Berean Baptist Church in Tulsa for many years. In recent years she was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Bixby, Oklahoma.If you want, remember her with a contribution in her name to the benevolence fund at Riverview Baptist Church, Bixby, Oklahoma.A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, July 2, 2018, in the Floral Haven Rose Chapel, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
