Dorothy May Melone's Obituary
Dorothy May Melone, 88, passed away on August 6, 2024, in Inola, Oklahoma. Born at home on March 28, 1936, in Fairland, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of George Isaac and Opal Harden Lewis.
Dorothy dedicated her life to education, serving as the Secretary for Inola School Superintendent and taught the Pre K/Kindergarten Sunday school class at Inola United Methodist Church for years. Her commitment to the community and its children left a lasting impact.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, George and Opal Lewis, sisters Bessie Hayes, Hazel Rombach and Jewel Pirtle and brother Willard Lewis
She is survived by her loving husband, William “Bill” Melone, and her children: Kelli Davis and husband Kendall and Kevin Melone and wife Terri. Dorothy’s legacy extends to her cherished grandchildren: Meagan Stoltzfus and husband Keton, Melody Gerard and husband Travis, Blane Davis and wife Alex, Ross Melone, Brian Melone and wife Angie, and Ashley Foster and husband Jeremy. Her great-grandchildren—Landry Stoltzfus, Talma Gerard, Samuel Gerard, Eleanor Gerard, Scarlett Davis, Zander Melone, Joseph Melone, Gabriel Melone, Abigail Melone, Zariah Melone, Matthias Melone, and Maddox Melone. Her sisters Betty Mabry, Jane Enyart and Judy Stout, and brothers George and Donald Lewis and many nieces and nephews--will forever carry her memory.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 12, 2024, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. Dorothy’s life touched many hearts, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
