Dorothy E. Strong's Obituary
Dorothy E. Strong, a resilient and hardworking woman, passed away on February 4, 2024, in Tulsa at the age of 81. Born on March 15, 1942, in Gainesville, Missouri, to the late David Neely and Edith Strong Neely.
Dorothy was known for her fierce independence and dedication. Throughout her life, she displayed a remarkable work ethic, often utilizing her hands for various projects. Dorothy's career spanned over 30 years where she served as a supervisor, specializing in airplane maintenance. Described as a Spitfire, Dorothy was renowned for her candid nature, always speaking her mind without hesitation. Despite her straightforward approach, she held a deep love for her family and cherished spending time with her grandchildren. Known for her outgoing and fun-loving personality, Dorothy was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Dorothy will be fondly remembered for her unwavering strength, generous spirit, and vibrant presence in the lives of those who knew her. Her legacy of hard work, honesty, and kindness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in peace.
she was preceded in passing by her parents, her brother, Everett Neely, her sister, Eileen, Walrath, her sister, Darlene Engels, her brother, Donald Neely, and an infant sister.
She is survived by her son son Rickey Strong and his wife, Cathy daughter Vickie Jackson, and her husband, David, son, Mickey Strong, and son, Dickey Strong, and his wife, Kimberly; she is also survived by her grandchildren, Terra Schwerin, Leslie Fredericks and her husband, Corey, Ryan Cole, and his wife, Jenny, Shawna Mercatoris and her husband Ryan, Dustin Strong, and his wife Santana, Derick Strong and his wife, Carol, Haley Pfarr and her husband, Kelby, Tyler Strong, Matthew Strong, Amy Gray, and her husband, Michael, Brandon Alexander and his wife, Mindi, Misty Alexander and her husband, Phillip, Andrew Alexander, Chasity Alexander and her husband, Scott, and Timmy Alexander. She is survived by numerous great-grandchildren; her brother, Eldon Neely, and his wife, Cathy; her sister, Helen “Dean“ Still and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Service will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel
