Dorothy Aline Williams' Obituary
Dorothy Williams, 93, was born on April 4, 1924 and passed away on May 8, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Dorothy will be fondly remembered in a number of ways, but she was most often thought of as a caregiver, comforter, and loving visitor to family and friends.She was very active, with 60 years of joining various clubs, taking on leadership roles for different organizations, and even square dancing under her belt. She served as a mail carrier for the postal service and as a nurses aide at local hospitals.Dorothy was also an artist, finding ways to display her talent through oil paintings and her seamstress skills. She was well known for creating square dance costumes, formal clothing, and even everyday wear.She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil H. Williams; parents Melvin and Edith (Hancock) Bell; daughter Jackie Louise Williams; sisters Marie Bell, Bernice Gifford, and Esther Driskell; granddaughter Lesia Mashburn; and great grandson Tristan Lee Zonneville.She is survived by daughters Phyllis Mashburn and Linda Fether Gill; son Billy Williams; grandsons Corky Mashburn, Larry Mashburn, Michael Williams, Kenny Stevens, and Mchael Cossairt; granddaughters Angela Ashburn, Falena “Michelle” Williams, and Belinda Shell; sister Helen Johnson; and 15 great grandchildren.Visitation will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 5 pm – 8pm. A chapel service will take place on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 12:30 pm in the Floral Haven Chapel.
