Dorthey Dean Murphy's Obituary
Mrs. Dorthey Murphy, 94, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, died February 14 peacefully in her sleep. She was born on January 24, 1927 in Cushing, Oklahoma. She was a talented professional seamstress, enjoyed cooking, and always looked forward to playing cards with friends. Dorthey met her husband of 66 years, Floyd L. Murphy, in Tulsa. Except for a brief time in California during World War II, they spent their entire married life in Oklahoma where they built their life, raised their family, and made exceptional friends.
Dorthey is survived by her son, Rod Murphy; her daughter, Pam Murphy; son-in-law, Tom Johnson; and her grandson, David Broach. She is also survived by her sister, Cathy Marker; and brother, Jon VanDeventer.
Dorthey will be buried at Floral Haven with her husband, Floyd Murphy. A private burial is planned. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to the charity of your choice.
