Douglas Chouteau Bighorse's Obituary
Douglas Chouteau Bighorse was born April 11, 1960 and left this life on August 23, 2022 at the age of 62 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Chouteau was born in Pawhuska Oklahoma, the first born son (Elompa) of Douglas Bighorse and Delores Jean Pleasant. Chouteau loved his Osage culture and was placed in the In Lon Ska ceremonial dance in Pawhuska and danced at an early age.
His adult life led him to Nursing Home care where he worked for many years. Chouteau's passion was elder care. He loved meeting and taking exceptional care of his patients and even considered them to be family. He showed them joy in the good times and compassion for the families in their sad times.
Chouteau was preceded in death by his father Douglas and mother Delores Jean.
He is survived by his brother Paul Bighorse of Broken Arrow, Niece Brittany Renea Bighorse of Tulsa, Nephew Mason Thomas Bighorse of Broken Arrow, Great Niece Taylor and Great Nephew Tuibitsi among many family and friends.
Arrangements have been made through Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 S 129th E. Ave., Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Reverend Norman Daniel will be officiating.
A closed casket Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday August 28th, 2022 2-5 PM and funeral service will be on Monday August 29th, 2022 at 8:30 AM.
Chouteau touched so many hearts throughout his life and will be deeply missed. Rest in loving peace Unkie.
