Douglas Latta's Obituary
Douglas Latta, 85, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed away on March 5, 2023.He was born May 17, 1937 in Plainfield, New Jersey to James and Elizabeth Latta. He had two brothers Jimmy and L.C. who both preceded him in passing.
He joined the U.S. Army after high school and served 6 years. He earned his BA Degree in Commercial Art from East Carolina University, and worked for the CBS TV Station in Nashville, Tennessee designing sets and TV guides. He earned his M.F.A degree from Florida State University and taught commercial art at Arkansas State University for 7 years. He taught at O.R.U. for 22 years, and received Professor Emeritus.
He met and married his wife Norma who he spent 57 wonderful years with. They have 2 children, Chris (and spouse Erin) Latta and Matthew (and spouse Cherish) Latta, and have 3 grandchildren: Keaton, Conner, Kane. They are also authors of Faces of Truth, a Collection of Historical Biographies.
He was a member of The Assembly, and a memorial service to celebrate his life will be held there on March 17, 2023 at 2:00 PM.
Floral Haven Memorial Gardens is where he will rest in peace.
