Douglas Arthur Weaver's Obituary
Douglas Arthur Weaver, a devoted and endearing husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 80 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by his family on June 28, 2023. Douglas was born on November 9, 1942, in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Alfred and Jessie (Tuter) Weaver. Douglas grew up in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and after leaving high school enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, served his country as a field artillery batteryman from 1960-64, and was always proud to fly the American and Marine flags. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and was a self-employed Electrical Contractor for 48 years. Doug received his 50 year pin from Lodge 555 A.F. & A. M. in Tulsa last year and was also a 32nd degree Scottish rite Mason. Douglas liked participating in gun shows and socializing with his gun show buddies and played an occasional slot machine. He enjoyed traveling, loved OU footfall, and savored crab legs. He was known for his delightful laugh, his kindness, generosity, compassionate spirit, and his big heart. He also enjoyed loving and caring for his cats. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Charles and Johnny and Billy Weaver; and two sisters Nadine Barnes and Naomi Yarberry. Douglas is survived by his wife Caroline of 25 years; two sons Johnny and Billy Weaver, and daughter Lisa Michelle Weaver, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one step-son Stephen Richards (wife: Donna, children Michael) of Napa, California; one grandson Nelson Arnold; one brother A.G. “Skip” Weaver (wife: Karen, children A.G) of Columbus, Georgia; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held on Friday July 7, 2023, at the Floral Haven Chapel, 6500 South 129th East Avenue, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at 12:30 P.M. with interment to follow at Floral Haven Cemetery. The Weaver family requests that donations be made in Doug’s honor to Tulsa Street Cats, Inc., online at www.streetcatstulsa.org
