Doyle Hendrix's Obituary
Doyle Hendrix was born in Portland, Arkansas to C.G. and Zellra Hendrix; he was the seventh of nine children. He picked cotton until the age of eighteen when he then left home to begin laboring on a pipeline. He joined Pipeliners Union 798 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and quickly advanced from Welder Helper to Journeyman Welder, to Job Steward, and then to 798 Business Agent. In 1973 he was elected by the membership to the position of Financial Secretary-Treasurer and served with distinction until his retirement in 1995. He loved his union, but his real true love was his family.In June of 1956, Doyle married the love of his life, Sandra Gay Henson. Together they began an adventure that would last a lifetime. They had two sons, Doyle Brantley Hendrix, Daniel Carlton Hendrix, and one daughter Kelly Renee Hendrix-Forrest. Together they have six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by one son, Doyle Brantley. He is survived by his wife of the home and three brothers.A celebration of life will be held on Saturday 1:00-4:00 pm at Pipeliners Local Union 798, 4823 South 83rd East Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74145
