Doyle Melson's Obituary
Doyle Melson, 71 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Thursday, December 27, 2018 in a Tulsa hospital with his family by his side. He was born July 19, 1947 in Oark, Arkansas to his late parents, James Francis Melson and Hazel Lorene Hill Melson.Doyle proudly served his country for eight years in the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Doyle was described as a “Jack of all trades”, he could fix about anything and was very handy. He was a mechanic by trade, working on almost anything with an engine, but mostly cars and trucks. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports, mostly football and ladies softball on TV but also loved watching the History Channel and CNN. Doyle was a hard worker, a former truck driver and a man that loved the outdoors.Doyle is survived by his loving wife, Lela Mae Six Melson of the home; one grandson, Blake Rouse and wife Sarah of Houston, Texas; one granddaughter, Haley Rouse of Inola, Oklahoma; close family friends, Sandra and Michael Tolliver of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Laura Lee and Eric Ford of Tulsa, Oklahoma and numerous other friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Hazel Melson and one son, Jeffrey Daniel Rouse who passed away in 2007.A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
