Doyle hired me as his secretary at Auto Crane way back in the late 1970s when I was a struggling single mom trying to find myself and make a way for my daughter and me. He gave me a chance to grow by holding me accountable and by teaching me life lessons I remember still today. I reflect on my 3 years under his leadership with fondness and absolute gratitude. Growing up in Indian Springs and being the youngest of Bill and Jane's Travis's daughter I was fortunate to know many of my parents friends. Doyle and Gene were one of my favorites. Doyle was always so excited to see me and to see what I was doing? He always had a hug for me. even last year we ran into him and Gene at the Club. I was greeted the same way. He will be missed and I send prayers out to Gene and the rest of the family. I was truly blessed to know him.
One time I was talking to Gene about raising teenagers. Mine were younger than his. He said when he would drive the kids places they would ask him to not talk to their friends and please don't sing. He said he could remember to not talk, but had trouble not singing.. Patrick and Jan, I wonder if this is something you remember about your Dad. He was such a good man. I had the pleasure of working with Doyle @ Auto Crane. I started there in 1977
and left in 2008. My success today is do to Doyle believing in me and encouraging me to reach for the stars. He was a kind, thoughtful man!

I loved seeing him on the golf course almost every day, til the end. I remember seeing his group putting on #15 & he was teeing off on 16. Gotta love fast play. I loved running into him, usually at Braums and we would talk about his grandson Josh and my son Ryan, who were college fraternity brothers. Doyle and Jean are beautiful people and I know this will be a huge hole for the family. May peace be with all of you.

Doyle had a huge heart and was always there when you needed his wonderful words of encouragement. I was privileged to get to know him and beautiful Jean through our membership of many years at John Calvin Presbyterian Church. My heart is broken. Thoughts and prayers are with Jean and the family.

I am a family friend and I enjoyed going to church with their family. One of my favorite memories was his 90th birthday party and meeting more of their family. I also would occasionally go over on Saturday nights for burgers from the club. I really always felt welcome by him and his family. We would talk football, golf, exercising and life. He was such a kind man and I love him and his family very much. They are a one of a kind family. Thoughts and lots of prayers to all of you.
