Dwight Tullis' Obituary
Dwight Earl Tullis was born in Oswego, KS on October 10, 1937 to Arthur and Velma Tullis. The eldest of three children, he and his younger siblings, Nina Ross and Zane Tullis, grew up in Bartlett, KS. Dwight married and moved to Wichita, KS where he had two loving sons, Allan Ray and Brian Keith.While working in the aircraft industry, Dwight graduated Wichita State University and continued his career in the field as an aeronautical engineer with Cessna. After moving to California to work with Northrop Grumman, he met and married his beloved Dorothy.Upon retirement, Dwight and Dorothy moved to Oklahoma where they met many cherished friends while splitting their time between homes at Grand Lake of the Cherokees and Broken Arrow. In 2014, following Dwight’s victory over cancer, he and Dorothy settled in Broken Arrow.Dwight and Dorothy enjoyed thirty-one wonderful years of marriage. Sadly, Dorothy preceded Dwight in passing on October 27, 2019. Shortly thereafter, Dwight fell ill and passed on December 7, 2019, leaving this life to join Dorothy, where according to his daughter-in-law Yvonne, they are again “two peas in a pod”.Dwight is survived by his brother Zane, son Allan and wife Diane, son Brian and wife Yvonne, and stepdaughter Sharon Amberg and husband Robert. Dwight also leaves behind seven grandchildren and their spouses: Anson Tullis, Candice Smythe and husband Chris, Kyle Tullis and wife Sarah, Steven Amberg, Jenna Amberg, Marissa Amberg, and Brendan White.Visitation will be held from 5 pm – 7pm on Friday, December 13.Funeral services will be at 12:30 pm on Saturday, December 14 at Floral Haven Chapel.
