E H Paddock's Obituary
E H Paddock, age 84, of Brookfield, WI and formerly of Grove, OK, passed away on May 31st, 2021 in Hartland, WI at Angel’s Grace hospice. E H, or Pat as many knew him, was born on August 4th, 1936 in Halstead, Kansas to Olive (Cooper) and Lloyd Paddock.
E H grew up living in many places with his Mother and Dad and sister Julia (Julia “Go” Paddock as their Dad used to call her) -Kansas, Oregon and several places in Oklahoma, including Blackwell (where the whole Cooper family lived) and later in Manford, where he and Julia graduated from high school and made life-long friends known as the Manford Crew. He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma State University (and still wore OSU baseball hats right up until he passed) and was drafted into the Army right out of school. He served at Fort Detrick in Maryland where he met lifelong friend Bob (and later his wife/partner in crime Sandy) Schmidt who introduced him to Baltimore, sailing and steamed crabs.
E H got a job in Baltimore working at General Motors where he met his wife of almost 50 years, Kathleen (Knox) Paddock. After their son, Everett H Paddock arrived, E H and Kathy decided to move to southern Pennsylvania to raise their family. Suzanne Olivia Paddock followed a few years later. E H and Kathy stayed in Pennsylvania until late 2005 when they decided to move back to Oklahoma to spend their remaining years. They settled in Grove and met so many wonderful, caring people.
E H loved the countryside, watching any OSU game, having dogs, playing golf, sailing, painting, eating at Drake’s in Grove, but most of all, he loved his family. And they sure love him too.
E H was preceded in death by his Mother, Olive, and Dad, Lloyd, and his wife Kathy. He is survived by his beloved sister Julia (Paddock) Senter, his son Everett and daughter-in-law Cindy, daughter Suzanne and son-in-law Luke, and four handsome and wonderful grandsons Justin, Brenden, Dylan and Roland, and many, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, June 9th with interment to follow at Floral Haven Cemetery, Broken Arrow, OK.
