E. Faye Shelton's Obituary
Erma Faye Shelton, known to most as “Faye”, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Faye was born into this world Saturday, February 1, 1930 in Texarkana, Arkansas to her loving parents Clifford & Clara Marlar. Faye went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 28, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma with her loving family by her side. Faye was raised in Texarkana, Arkansas and graduated from Texarkana Arkansas High School in the class of 1948. Through a blind date, Faye eventually met her soul mate Joe Shelton. After three to four months of courtship, they married in 1955. Their union led to sixty-one wonderful years of marriage. In Faye’s free time she enjoyed many artistic interests such as painting, singing, and playing the guitar and piano. Fond memories will always be cherished by family and friends. Memories of her kindness, laughter, creativity, musical talent, her Christianity, and most importantly how much she loved her family and all the memories she helped to create. She will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege to know her and to have their lives forever touched by her spirit. Faye is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford & Clara Marlar and her dear brother, Lloyd Wilson. Faye is survived by her beloved husband of sixty-one years, Joe Edward Shelton; her two sons, Lee Byron Shelton and wife Julie, and Gregory Neal Shelton and fiancé Ashley Key; her dear grandson, Tyler Joseph Shelton; her two brothers, Clifford Marlar Jr. and wife Ann, and Obie Marlar and wife Carolyn; and numerous other loving family members and dear friends. Services have been entrusted to Floral Haven Funeral Home, Crematory and Memorial Gardens at 6500 S 129th E Avenue in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012. Visitation with family will be held Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 at 3:00PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel followed by a graveside service at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
