Earl Thomas "Tom" Goins' Obituary
Earl Thomas “Tom” Goins, affectionately known as “Pappy”, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 11, 2016. He was born on May 12, 1923, in Benton County, Arkansas, the son of Denny and Ida Viola (Dye) Goins. On July 2, 1942, he married the love of his life, Thelma Seawright, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tom proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. Tom had worked at Texas Instruments, until his retirement after 28 years of service. He had worked as a gunsmith since the mid 1960’s, and was the owner and operator of Goins Gun Repair. He also owned and operated Tom’s Touring Tires, having sold motorcycle tires to local riders for many years. He loved to hunt, gunsmith, and garden. He also made delicious pies, that his family always looked forward to around the holidays. Tom was one of a kind. He was a gentleman, so full of wisdom, and genuine kindness. People would sit for hours to hear him talk about when he was young, and all that he had done in his 93 years. To know him was to love him. He is survived by his two sons, Glenn Goins, and his wife, Jackie, of Catoosa, OK, Hugh Goins, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Nowata, OK, grandchildren; John Goins, and his wife, Jena, of Catoosa, OK, Gwenn Hall, and her husband, Justin, of Catoosa, OK, Chip Hamer, and his wife, Melissa, of Owasso, OK, Kelly Irwin, of Owasso, OK, Rick Goins, of Owasso, OK, Joe Goins, and his wife, April, of Broken Arrow, OK, great-grandchildren; Cody Goins, and his wife, Crystal, of Catoosa, OK, Mitchell Goins, and his wife, Brittany, of Owasso, OK, Bailey Goins, and her fiancé, Zach, of Verdigris, OK, Josh Goins, and his wife, Mercedes, of Tahlequah, OK, Miranda Jarvis, of Owasso, OK, Madison Goins, of Broken Arrow, OK, Bailey Jarvis, of Owasso, OK, Sarah Goins, of Owasso, OK, Alyssa Goins, of Stillwater, OK, Conley Hamer, of Owasso, OK, Bryce Hall, of Catoosa, OK, Tori Hamer, of Owasso, OK, Tyler Hamer, of Owasso, OK, Dylan Hamer, of Owasso, OK, Chase Hall, of Catoosa, OK, and Presley Jo Goins, of Broken Arrow, OK, great-great grandchildren; Sadie Rae Goins, of Catoosa, OK, Max Thomas Goins, of Owasso, OK, and Easton Thomas Goins, of Catoosa, OK, and numerous other family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Thelma Goins, and five brothers; Coy Goins, Jack Goins, Bill Goins, Jim Weldon, and Jo Bob Weldon.
