Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Earle embodied the resilience of his hometown throughout his life. He graduated from Redford High School in 1959, setting the foundation for a lifetime of determination and service. Despite the challenge of living with only one leg, Earle was a remarkable athlete. He completed several Tulsa Run Marathons on crutches, each time defying expectations and inspiring all who saw him. His grit and perseverance served as a beacon of hope and motivation for many. Earle had a deep appreciation for life’s joys and challenges. He was passionate about music, jogging, weight lifting, reading, writing, and working with his hands—interests that reflected both his creative and disciplined nature. His talents extended beyond hobbies and into public service; Earle worked for the City of Tulsa for 16 years, where he served his community with diligence and heart. In 1986, Earle married Virginia Trickey, the love of his life. Their enduring partnership was rooted in mutual respect, love, and resilience. He died still devoted to her, their nearly 40-year marriage a testament to enduring love. Earle Demorest’s story is not just one of overcoming adversity, but of thriving through it. His life will continue to inspire all who knew him and many who only knew of his example. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
