I first met my wife Carol's Aunt Easter, after she told me that her aunt was 80 and still climbing around on her roof, cleaning leaves, etc. I went over to her house, fixed plumbing, mowed the yard, cleaned brush, etc. One of the greatest joys I had was buying her a bouquet of flowers, for no other reason than no one else had for some time. Her smile and gratitude were infectious – so I did it again whenever I came back into town. A hundred, or two hundred years ago, she would have been the 'Pioneer Woman', heading across the country by covered wagon. She has gone home to be with Jesus, as I knew her also by her faith. I will miss her – but I won't miss having known her. She was…unique.
