Eddie Don Burns Jr's Obituary
Eddie Don Burns Jr, 72, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed away on October 15, 2021. He was born on August 11, 1949
He is survived by his former spouse Marsha A. Burns; his daughter Rachel A. Burns-Stayton, and husband Joseph; grandson Eddie D. Burns III, and granddaughters Kyia B. Woodson, and Jacobi Bentley.
He is reunited with his father, Eddie Don Burns Sr, mother Lillie Belle Burns, Grandmother Vella Burnett, and grandmother Eva Hooper.
Eddie followed in his father’s footsteps by joining the Air Force as a staff sergeant in 1968. Serving during the same time as his father and passing each other in air leaving and returning from the war. Proceeding the war Eddie met his beloved in 1973, Marsha Marshall from Sand Springs, OK and were married February 28, 1976 in Midwest City, OK. Even though Eddie and Marsha divorced in 1994, Marsha remained in Eddie’s life and was always by his side even during all of his life’s ups and downs and remained by his side during sickness and health until his death on October 15, 2021
April 14, 1976, Eddie began his lifetime railroad career by accepting a position with the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway Company as a signal helper. Then continuing his career as it transitioned to the new railroad ownership change of the Burlington Northern Railroad Company until beginning Railroad Signal Inc in 1987 with the acceptance of his first customer contract Farmrail Systems Inc and remained as a lifetime customer for over 30 years. Eddie serviced class 1 railroads, over 300 short line regional railroads and private industry customers by manufacturing, installing, and maintaining railroad highway crossing signaling systems across the United States and Internationally.
Eddie hired and began to train his only daughter, Rachel beginning in 1995 by teaching her over the next 20 plus years all of his lifetime knowledge and experience as she continued finally opening her
known company RSS in 2018 in which Eddie began working for his daughter and helping to install her first knockdown in the Grand Canyon National Park.
In the end we all will remember Eddie’s lifetime achievements and irreplaceable funny railroad stories in which, we all will cherish forever.
