Eddie Van Lewis' Obituary
Eddie Van Lewis was born on August 5, 1937 to James Otto and Della Lewis in Sulphur, OK. He passed from this life on Sunday, March 20, 2005 at his home in Tulsa, OK. During high school he was very involved in the vocal department. In his senior year he played football and was president of the student body at Sulphur High School. He graduated high school in 1955 and served in the navy for four years. Eddie moved to Ardmore, OK in 1959 where he worked in the food industry for 25 years and continued to work in sales and marketing. As a child Eddie was member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur and as an adult he was a member of the Church of Christ. Eddie also served as a member of the Jaycees, Optimists Club, Quarterback Club and Ducks Unlimited. Eddie Lewis was preceded in death by his father, James Otto and sister Jimmie Ruth McGuffin. Eddie’s love and friendship will be missed by many family and friends. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 24, 2005, 12:30 P.M. at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.Survived By: his wife Joan Lewis of Tulsa and mother, Della Fulton of Sulphur, and children, Steve and Deanna Lewis of Ardmore, Robert Lewis of Houston, Robyn and Juan Velarde of Sulphur, Tonnie and Jeff Dosser of Tulsa, Susan Martin and Lea Anne Tucker of Tulsa, and Amanda and Paul Davidson of Chandler, AZ; many grandchildren, Courtney Reed, Chad and Holly McKinnon, Shane Lewis, Kyle Caldwell, Kaylor and Logan Lewis, Mason and Bridges Velarde, Merric and Gates Dosser, and Kelsey and Caleb Davidson, great-grandchildren, Jordan and Marshall McKinnon, and niece Vanna Lynn Stephens.
