Edgar Pales' Obituary
In Loving Memory of Edgar Pales
Edgar Pales was born August 17, 1943, to Maria De la Paz Rodriguez and Carlos Pales in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He passed away with family by his side on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
Edgar grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico with a dream to work in Aviation at American Airlines. After finishing high school, he moved to Oklahoma to follow his dream and earn his degree through Spartan College of Aeronautics & Technology. Over the years Edgar had many jobs that were steppingstones to his ultimate dream job at American Airlines, where he retired in 2008 after 39.5 years.
Edgar met the love of his life, Frankie in 1965 at a swimming hole in Tulsa, OK. The story goes, he laid eyes on her and told his friends “You leave her alone, that will be the mother of my children.” They say when you know you know, and Edgar just knew. To this union, they had three sons: Edgar (Buddy) Pales Jr., Stephen Douglas Pales, and Anthony Raymond Pales. Edgar’s family was his world, and he did everything he could to put Frankie and his sons first. There was no sacrifice too big when it came to his family.
Edgar was in the Air National Guard with 6 months of active duty. Edgar’s service will be honored today. After retirement Edgar kept himself busy working in the yard, detailing his boat and vehicles, spending time camping in his RV, boating and fishing. He enjoyed sharpening knives and loved keeping up with day-to-day politics and happenings around the world.
Days before his passing he made it known that he completed everything he wanted to do in life. He had his dream job, he had his dream family, and he had no regrets.
Edgar was preceded in death by his mother Maria De La Paz Rodriguez, father Carlos Pales, brother Carlos (Charlie) Pales, and son Edgar (Buddy) Pales Jr.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Frankie Raye Pales, and their sons Stephen Douglas (Stacie Pales) and Anthony Raymond Pales, brother Carlos Pales (Amanda Pales) and sisters Maria Pales (Andrea Otalora) and Aixa Pales (Rene Quijano). His memory will forever be treasured by his grandchildren: Kasey Pirrone, Mercedees Tally, Karisa Molloy, Blake Pales, Kierstin Seratte (Austin Seratte), Andrea Brunson (Holden Brunson), Elijah Townes, Ashton Pales, Ryan Pales, Alex Pales, and Cody Pales. He leaves behind a beautiful lineage of great-grandchildren: Alexander Pirrone, Leonardo Pirrone, Olivia Tally, Sylus Pales, Skyler Molloy, Ayannah Keys, Nova Seratte, Benjamin Brunson, and Nicholys Brunson. Additionally, he was also deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his beloved dog, Ruby.
