Edmund Ralph Ballew's Obituary
Edmund “Ralph” Ballew, 77, of Broken Arrow, passed away peacefully at his home on November 5, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. He was born August 24, 1942 to Thomas Eugene and Juanita (Toomey) Ballew in Chattanooga, Tennessee.Ralph graduated from Rossville High School in Rossville, Georgia. He attended the Univeristy of Tulsa. He was a staff sergeant in the United States Army Reserves.His brothers, Thomas Lamar (Pete) and his twin brother, Edwin (Duane) Ballew preceded him in death.He retired from the United States Postal Service after 33 years as a letter carrier.He enjoyed being outside, riding his tractor, baling hay, tending to cows, camping, fishing and spending time with family. He loved Sandy’s southern cooking and Sunday drives. He took pride in supporting his family and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.Survivors include his wife of nearly of 51 years, Sandra; daugthers, Jennifer Sherment and husband, John of Tulsa and Joy Franks of Broken Arrow. He was blessed with five grandchildren, who were the joy of his life, Braxton Sherment, Brittany Sherment, Zachary Franks, Holli Franks and Brennen Franks. Brother, Gene Ballew; sisters-in-law, Kay, Dianne and Margaret Ballew; several nieces and several nephews.Visitation will be held Sunday, November 10th from 2 pm to 8 pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home.Services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, November 11, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ark House, PO Box 833656 Richardson, TX 75082.
