Edna Louise Bowers' Obituary
Edna Louise Bowers was born April 27, 1928 to Frank Mapp Curry and Edna Mae Curry (Booth) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Married Walter McCoey Bowers on October 9th, 1947
Louise attended school in Tulsa, OK and then attended OSU in Stillwater, OK. She loved to write poetry, sing, play the piano and organ, and was a vocalist with her husband (a saxophone player) in several community bands. She loved to ice skate as a child on Swan Lake and Woodward Park. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, journaling, speedball, fishing, bowling, water skiing, riding bikes, tennis, and bird watching. She loved playing Canasta with the “Feisty Females” and the “Fun-Four” (especially with her “sister” Luanne). She loved to work outside in her flower garden and at one time had over 100 African Violets in her home. She was known for sending birthday and anniversary cards to Many of her friends year after year. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she enjoyed many years of service teaching the children to sing, served in leadership positions working with Church children’s leaders in Northeastern Oklahoma, and served as a Temple Worker with her husband in the Dallas, TX temple. Her most treasured possessions were her testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and her family. Louise and Walter raised two children, Walter McCoey Bowers, Jr. and Janis Louise Myers (Bowers). Louise is survived by her 2 children and their spouses, 9 grandchildren & their spouses, and 33 great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years and great-grandson Leo Andrasko.

Cara (Bowers) and Nate Nicholes, with great-grandchildren, Mckinley, Dallin, and Afton; Daughter, Janis Myers (Bowers) and spouse Ernest Myers with 6 children and their spouses: Ernest Myers, Jr. and Chelsea, with great-grandchildren Jameson, Brookelyn, Milo, Ernest III, and Otto, Krystal (Myers) and Jose Hernandez, with great-grandchildren Kily, Chance, Mia, and Josie, Jared Myers and Ginger, with great-grandchildren McCoy, Fisher, Maybelle, and Jane, Michelle (Myers) and Zane Anderson, with great-grandchildren Hudson, Lincoln, Oak, and Finn, Jennifer (Myers) and Kyle Andrasko, with great-grandchildren Luca, King, Leo, and Vera, Bethany (Myers) and Blake Raley, with great-grandchildren April and Henry.
Louise was known to many by several names: Eddie Lou, Louise, Kitten, Mother, Mama, and Great-Mama.
One of her greatest gifts was gratitude. She always expressed sincere appreciation for anything people did in service to her and her family. She will be dearly missed by so many that loved her.

The visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, June 19, 2023, at Floral Haven Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Floral Haven Rose Chapel.
