Edna Darlene Engles' Obituary
Edna Darlene Engles (Neely), age 66, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away at Hillcrest Medical Center on January 5, 2018.Edna Darlene was born in Gainesville, Missouri to David and Edith Neely on February 10, 1951. She married James Phillip Engles. They were blessed with 3 children. Edna Darlene enjoyed a long term career in retail sales of Wine and Spirits. Upon ending of her marriage, she chose a new path for her life. Edna Darlene entered Sparten School of Aeronautics, where she received her pilot and flight instructor degree. After surviving a plane crash, life chose another path for Edna. She enjoyed baking and decorating special occasion cakes. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed participating in activities and services in her church community.Edna was diagnosed with cancer in December, 2016. After a successful surgery and chemo treatments, she suffered a re-occurrence and was called home to walk with the Lord.She will be dearly missed by 1 son: Jamie Engles, Atlantic, Iowa; and 2 daughters: Heather Burg and husband Kevin, Atlantic, Iowa and Melinda Garrison and husband Bryce, Middlesex, New Jersey; 6 grandchildren: Kevin Engles, Kameron Burg, Connor Burg, Katilyn Engles, Rylee Garrison, and Jack Garrison; 1 great-grandchild: Kamdyn Burg; 1 expected great-grandchild; 2 sisters: Dorothy Strong and Dean Still; 1 brother: Eldon Neely; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; the father of her children: James Engles; and the grandmother of her children: Norma Johnson.Enda is preceded in death by 1 grandchild: Jamie Nicole Engles; mom: Edith Neely Strong; dad: David Earl Neely; sisters: Evelyn Walrath and Barbara Strong; and brothers: Everett Neely and Donald Neely. Visitation will be at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 10, 2018,Funeral services will be held at Crosstown Church of Christ on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Robert Prater officiating.Graveside committal will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens at 11:30 AM.
