Edna Lucille Grove's Obituary
Edna Lucille Grove, age 83, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on February 1, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on June 15, 1942, to Alton and Mary Roush, who welcomed a daughter whose kindness, humor, and gentle spirit would bless everyone she met.
Edna was a woman who found joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life — especially when those moments involved a good card game. Whether it was Canasta, 313, or any game her family suggested, she was always ready to play. Her grandchildren fondly remember that she was famous for helping them win, even if it meant her own team didn’t stand a chance. Her easygoing nature made every gathering brighter, and her daughter‑in‑laws often said, without hesitation, “She was the best mother‑in‑law!” Both felt incredibly lucky to have her in their lives.
A gifted cook and baker, Edna filled her home with warmth, delicious aromas, and the kind of meals that became family traditions. She taught her grandchildren how to bake and cook, passing down recipes, skills, and memories they will cherish forever. Her Thanksgiving dinners were legendary, and her desserts — especially her cinnamon bread and muffins — were loved by all who tasted them.
To her family, Edna was affectionately known as the “daycare grandma.” Her children could drop off their little ones without a worry in the world, knowing they were safe, loved, and probably being spoiled just a bit. Her home was a haven of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.
Edna shared 61 beautiful years of marriage with the love of her life, Eugene “Gene” Grove. Their devotion to one another was a testament to faith, commitment, and enduring companionship.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. Edna was deeply devoted to God and loved being in church. Spirit Life Church in Tulsa was her home church, and she treasured her time there. She also enjoyed visiting other congregations, especially when special guest speakers came to Vinita Church.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years of marriage; her children Charles and wife Bonnitta Grove; and Rodney and wife Peggy Grove; grandchildren Andrew Grove; Matthew Grove; Cheryl (Grove) and husband Alex Thompson; and Sarah Grove; as well as her siblings Vera Lee; Jim Roush; Fred Roush; and George Roush; along with a host of other family and friends that will forever miss and love her.
Edna leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and faith — a legacy that lives on in her family, her friends, and all who were blessed to know her. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and playful heart will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
