Edna Rose Seabolt's Obituary
Edna was born May 21, 1938, in Quinton, Oklahoma to Earl and Maxine (Stockton) Pearson, and grew up on the family farm in Quinton. Edna married Billy Joe Seabolt on January 28, 1956, and then graduated from Quinton High School in May of 1956. Upon graduation, Edna moved to southern California to be with Bill who was stationed there in the Army. While in California, Edna worked for the American Telephone and Telegraph Company. Bill and Edna moved back to Oklahoma in September 1957 after his discharge from the Army. Edna attended the Oklahoma School of Business from 1957-1958 and also worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Tulsa from 1957-1964. Unable to have children of their own, Edna and Bill turned to adoption and were blessed with a newborn boy in October 1964 then a newborn girl three weeks later. Edna was thrilled to have her “twins” and was a devoted stay-at-home mom until the children started school. She then volunteered as a teacher’s aide at the school so she could be close to her children. Edna resumed her professional career in 1975 by getting a teller job at Tulsa Teachers Credit Union, later advancing to teller supervisor.
Edna was a long-time member of Bethany Free Will Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, where she helped teach the 2-year-old class for many years. After the couple became empty nesters, they enjoyed their retirement years by visiting their grandchildren and taking numerous cruises. Edna fulfilled a life-long dream of visiting the Holy Land when she went to Israel with her church group in 2000. She loved feeding and watching birds in her backyard and reading her Bible every day. She was known for her pecan pies, mashed potato salad, and brown bean chowder. Edna tirelessly cared for Bill during his battle with cancer for the last four years of his life. They celebrated 59 years of marriage before his passing in 2015.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Darlene Ashcraft and Kay Morgan, brother Guy Pearson, and her husband Bill. She is survived by her sister Patsy Garrison, children Billy (Claire) Seabolt, Jr. of Virginia and daughter Becky (Ron) Miron of Tennessee, her grandchildren Tripp, Jessica, and Knox Seabolt, Jeremiah (Michaela) Miron and Zach Miron, and her great-grandchildren Declan, Bellamie Rose, and Theo Miron, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.
No services are planned, and Edna will be laid to rest with Bill at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
