Edward H. Fisher's Obituary
Edward “Ed” H. Fisher, a resident of Cleveland, passed away July 2, 2018 at the age of 94. He was born February 14, 1924 to LeRoy Fisher and Ethel M. (Haynes) Fisher in Port Jervis, New York. He Graduated from Port Jervis High School in 1942 and completed his education in Tool Design in Buffalo, NY in 1944. As a Corporal in the US Army Air Forces, September 1944 – June 1946, he served as a Control Tower Operator and Instructor with the 735th Army Air Forces at Hensley Field, TX, and the 78th Army Air Forces at Langley Field, VA. He married in Wellston, MO, on October 12, 1946, Edward and his loving wife Sarah were happily married for over 70 years. After discharge from the Armed Services, Edward worked in the family business, Fisher’s Automotive, Port Jervis, NY. He was an Assistant Leader of Boy Scout Troop 77 in Matamoras, PA from 1964 to 1967. He was a Master Mason with Port Jervis Lodge No. 328, F. & A. M., Port Jervis, NY. Edward and his wife Sarah relocated to Tulsa, OK, in 1977 where he worked as a Dispatcher and Shop Foreman at Doenges Brothers Ford, and Turnpike Ford until his retirement. Edward was a founding member of the model airplane club in his home town where he enjoyed his hobby of building and flying remote controlled airplanes. Until his eyesight began to fail due to Glaucoma and Macular Degeneration, he had a great passion for wood-working and clock makingHe was preceded in death, Wife, Sarah Mae Harrison Fisher; Mother and Adoptive Father, Ethel M. and LeRoy A. Fisher; Brother and Sister-In-Law, LeRoy “Bud” Fisher Jr. and Barbara “Bobbi” Fisher.Survivors include Daughter, Sally Fisher Clark and husband David; Son, Richard Fisher and wife, Margaret; Daughter, Jean Fisher Bauer; Grandson, Benjamin Clark and wife Allison; Granddaughter, Heather Clark; Grandson, Michael Fisher; Granddaughter, Karen Fisher Whiteford and husband David; Grandson, Kevin Bauer and wife, Emily; Granddaughter, Denise Bauer Reid and husband Jeff; Grandson, Wes Bauer and wife, Stephanie; Great Grandson, Nathan Clark; Great Granddaughter, Olivia Clark; Great Grandson, Aaron Barnes; Great Grandson, Jackson Reid; Great Grandson, Nicholas Bauer; Great Grandson, Andrew Bauer; Great Grandson, Jeremy Bauer; Great Great Grandson, Chase Barnes; Multiple Nieces, Nephews and CousinsThe family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Edward Fisher to a charity of your choice.Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Lacey officiating.
