Edward William Hart's Obituary
Edward William Hart, 91, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on January 19th, 2022 after a brief stay in a Tulsa hospital. He was born on May 2nd, 1930, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Will and Bythellyn (Saphir) Hart. Edward graduated high school in St. Joseph and while attending community college, took a job on a nearby dairy farm where he met and fell in love with the farmer’s daughter, Anna Marie Schneider. They married on May 22nd 1951 in a country church, Hope United Church of Christ, Cosby, Missouri. Anna Marie finished nursing school and became a registered nurse and Edward joined the U.S. Navy as a corpsman. They were stationed in Naples, Italy and Bethesda, Maryland during his time in the Navy. Upon discharge from the service, Edward went to school at Kansas State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Dairy Science from the College of Agriculture in May 1957. He accepted a job with Glencliff Dairy in Tulsa in the quality control department and moved his young family to Tulsa, where they decided to raise their family and reside for the remainder of their years.
Edward enjoyed traveling and soon took a job selling dairy and food processing equipment for Creamery Package Manufacturing Company, traveling Oklahoma, southern Kansas, and western Arkansas until his retirement in the early 1990’s. Due to his willingness to travel, the family enjoyed many trips through the years and also spent much time back in northwest Missouri visiting relatives. He really enjoyed fishing, having made many trips to Mexico and Canada, and spent hundreds of days on Lake Tenkiller fishing and mowing the grass at the family lake house. He was also very active in Masonic work in Oklahoma, having served as Worshipful Master of Rock Lodge in Tulsa, Commander of Trinity Commandery No. 20, Knights Templar, in Tulsa, and as Right Eminent Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of Oklahoma. Edward also worked in various aspects of lay ministry through the years as a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Tulsa. He will be remembered by all for his kindness and dedication to his family and friends, work, and country.
