Edward Hugo Schoeffler, known by most as "Ed", passed away on October 1st, 2025, in Owasso, OK. Ed was born on July 28th, 1934, in Broken Arrow, OK, to parents Anthony Hugo Schoeffler and Ova Jewel (Smith) Schoeffler.
Ed was born and raised in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He was a proud graduate of Broken Arrow High School, where he served as captain of the football team. His love for the game carried on through college, where he played football at Northeastern State and later at the University of Tulsa.
After graduating from high school, Ed joined the United States Army, serving his country with dedication and honor, including 22 months stationed in Korea. He continued his service in the Army Reserves until his honorable discharge in 1960.
Outside of his military and athletic achievements, Ed was a man who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed raising his children near the lake, where they spent countless hours swimming and fishing. In his later years, he found joy in gardening, carpentry, and watching football. He was also fond of square dancing and cherished the sense of community it brought.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents; Ova Jewel and Anthony Hugo Schoeffler, wife; Virginia Schoeffler, brothers; Gene, Gerald and Bill Schoeffler and sister Virginia Willits. He is survived by his children; Malenda (Ross) Kerschner, Cheryl Schoeffler, Kathy (Chris) Whitaker, and Noah Schoeffler. As well as 6 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Ed will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love of family, and unwavering dedication to everything he put his mind to.
