Elaine Beverly Duncan's Obituary
Elaine Beverly Duncan, 94 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, December 2, 2022, in a Tulsa hospital with family by her side following a brief illness from a stroke. She was born April 21, 1928, in Elmhurst, Illinois to her parents, Sture Albert North and Hazel Margaret Carlson North. She later married William David Duncan on November 27, 1954, and he preceded her in death on June 14, 2007, after 52 years of marriage.
Elaine was a mad bridge player, being involved with several different bridge groups. She was a member of Quester's, having served in several leadership positions and the Green Country Women's group. She spent countless hours researching family genealogy before you could do your research on the internet. She loved to travel and with her husband, re-located to several different states throughout the marriage with his job, finally landing in Tulsa in 1973. She would always join a local Newcomer's group to meet new people. She said her greatest achievement was her children and she was happy to be able to be a stay-at-home mom. She was excited to become a grandmother and absolutely loved being involved in their lives.
Elaine is survived by her two children, Susan Rutledge of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Brad Duncan of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Kyle Rutledge of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Corey Rutledge of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and many friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sture Albert North, and Hazel Margaret North; her husband, William David Duncan; one son, Scott David Duncan; and one brother, Glenn North.
