Elaine Heather Jackson's Obituary
Elaine Heather Jackson was born in New York on November 11, 1946 to Alice and Alonzo Jackson. She attended Hunter College in New York City. She moved to Washington State in 1977 where she worked very hard to raise her only child, a daughter, A’isha.Heather, as she was known to her friends and loved ones, worked as secretary to the Dean of Students at Pacific Lutheran University before becoming an Executive Assistant to the engineering department of Honeywell’s Alliant Techsystems in Mukilteo, WA. This is where she was awarded the Natalie Skills Woman of the Year Award, which was exciting because it included a trip to Los Angeles and she used that trip to take her daughter to visit Disney Land, Sea World and Universal Studios. This trip was something that she and her daughter laughed and reminisced about until the last weeks of her life.In 1993 Heather moved to Broken Arrow, OK to attend Rhema Bible Training Center. She graduated in 1995, and was devout in her faith in God.Heather retired from MACTEC Engineering & Consulting in 2008. She happily worked part-time for AARP and finally for My Choice Health Care. But she was so much more than an Executive Assistant. She loved the musical group Earth Wind & Fire, as well as Broadway musicals, live theater and singing at the top of her lungs with her daughter on road trips to Georgia. Heather supported PBS Broadcasting and was a fan of Masterpiece Theatre. Most of all, she enjoyed traveling to international places such as The Bahamas, Germany, Italy, British Columbia and she also happily explored domestic places such as The Grand Canyon, San Francisco, The Oregon Coast, Dallas, Baton Rouge, Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia.Heather is preceded in death by her dear parents Alice and Alonzo Jackson as well as her brother, Lance Jackson. She is survived by her daughter, A’isha J. Henderson (Mikkel), grandson, Xavier Z. Henderson, and one grandson who is on the way.Memorial Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Victory Christian Church.Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to P.O.
