Elaine Elizabeth Samuels' Obituary
Elaine Elizabeth Kaiser Samuels passed away at Saint Francis Hospice in Tulsa, OK on July 9, 2022, at the age of 91 after a long tenacious battle with cancer impacted by COVID-19.
Elaine was born in 1931 to Walter and Thecla Kaiser on a farm in Marathon County, WI. She graduated at the top of her class in Stratford High School in Stratford, WI, and went on to study office work and bookkeeping. She went on to several positions as an office assistant and ultimately worked to become a bookkeeper and comptroller for several prominent businesses including her husband’s architecture firm in Tulsa which she helped grow over three decades. At work, she was known for her unfailing honesty and integrity.
Elaine was a resident of Tulsa and a devoted member of St Mary’s Catholic Church for 41 years. She also lived in Lacrosse, WI; Eagan, MN; and Sioux City, IA.
She preferred to keep a clean house, read Reader’s Digest and Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, take walks, and chat with neighbors to other forms of entertainment. She made several international trips and travels around the country in her life but preferred to be home with her family. She rarely missed her children’s basketball games, swim meets, or music concerts. Among her friends and neighbors, she was known for her exceeding kindness and generosity. She was always willing to help a friend in need through the use of her time or a listening ear.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Benjamin Ferdinand Samuels, who passed away ten years earlier at the age of 81. She was also preceded by her parents Walter Martin Kaiser and Thecla Christina Hennes Kaiser, her sisters Jean Pankratz and Anella Hedwig Baldwin, and her brother John Kaiser.
She is survived by her two adopted sons. Brad Benjamin Samuels of Tulsa and Kirk Mathew Samuels of Chapel Hill, NC. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Fleming Harris Samuels and grandchildren Millicent “Millie’ Samuels and Olzie Elaine Samuels of Chapel Hill; granddaughter Traci Lynn Samuels and four great-grandsons in Noble, OK; and grandsons Zachary T Samuels and Cameron M Samuels of Broken Arrow.
Celebration of Life Service will be 12:30 pm, Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
