Obituary of Eleanor Catherine (Hunt) WilkinsonEleanor Catherine (Hunt) Wilkinson, 88, of Stillwater, OK went home to the Lord on April 3, 2013. Eleanor was affectionately called 'Miss Ellie' or 'Ma' by most of those who knew and loved her. She was born on November 27, 1924 in Torrington, Wyoming, the seventh of the ten children of William and Marie (Buchtel) Hunt, all of whom preceded her in death. Eleanor married the love of her life, Roland D. ('Wilkie') Wilkinson, on August 28, 1948 in Rawlings, Wyoming. Together Eleanor and Roland raised three sons. Roland preceded her in death on March 14, 2012 after 63 years of marriage.Eleanor's career was caring for her husband and children as the family lived in several places including Salt Lake City, Utah; Duri, Sumatra, Indonesia; and Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1979 Eleanor and Roland moved to Anchorage, Alaska when Roland accepted a management position with Alyeska Pipeline. Shortly thereafter Eleanor went to work in the office of the Alaska Railroad. Eleanor and Roland retired from their respective jobs in early 1991 and came back to the 'lower 48' to settle in Stillwater, Oklahoma.Eleanor is survived by her sons and their spouses, Ron and Ann Wilkinson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, John and Mary Wilkinson of Midland, Texas, and Tony and Missy Wilkinson of Stillwater, Oklahoma; grandchildren Mark, Matt, Rebecca, Jeff, Brian, Andy, Katy, Karsten and Kaleigh and numerous great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind an extended family of dear friends including Belinda de la Vega of Paradise Valley, Arizona and her children Chase and Ana Alicia, Terry and Sheila Tharpe of Stillwater, Steve and Cheryl Stone of Stillwater, and many, many others. The family wishes to extend their most sincere gratitude to Companion Home Health and Hospice for their loving care and support of 'Miss Ellie' until her death.A memorial mass for Eleanor will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Saint Francis Xavier Church at 601 S. West in Stillwater, Oklahoma at 10 AM with Father Ken Harder presiding. Memorial contributions can be made to Saint Francis Xavier Church or your favorite charity.
