Elizabeth Ann Hensley's Obituary
Elizabeth “Liz” Hensley, age 79, of Tulsa, OK, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2018 after a brief struggle with cancer. Born May 20, 1939, Liz was raised in Edmond, OK by her late parents, John and Alta Trobare.Family and friends were Liz’s passion and delight. She had fond memories of playing with her sister and cousins throughout her childhood years. She went on to have a family of her own that included four children. Liz loved spending time with her children, taking them on fun adventures at every opportunity. When the kids were teenagers, Liz divorced and then married the love of her life, Jerry Hensley, who had two young boys of his own.Raising four teenagers and two young boys was a whole new adventure with lake trips, boy scouting and lots of shenanigans! As an empty nester, Liz enjoyed photography, painting, cooking, reading and gardening. She often took day trips to enjoy the scenery and photograph the changing of the seasons. As grandchildren and great grandchildren arrived, Liz enjoyed spending time with them whenever possible. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who’s greatest passion was family and friends.Liz is survived by her husband, Jerry Hensley; brother, John Trobare; daughter and her spouse, Twila and Mike Clark; four sons and their spouses, Tom and Christy Charter, Terry Charter, Darren Hensley, and Jeff and Winona Hensley; ten grandchildren; and four great grandsons.She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alta Trobare; her sister, Jean Hyatt; and her son, David Charter Jr.A celebration of Liz’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 18th, at Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, with Pastor Mitch Leonard officiating. Visitation will be held from 8:00-10:00 am at Floral Haven Funeral Home on August 18th.
