Elizabeth "Betsy" Howard's Obituary
Elizabeth (Betsy) Howard of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on February 22, 2016. The celebration of her life will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Floral Haven Funeral Home and Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 8 PM Friday, February 26 with family receiving guests from 5 PM to 8 PM at Floral Haven.Betsy was born in Fort Worth, Texas August 8, 1927. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Texas Christian University and in the early 1950s worked overseas as a secretary for the Armed Forces where she met her future husband, Philipp Alexander Pfleger. Betsy and Alex were married nearly 20 years and had three children: Crissi, Mike and Sandy. Betsy enjoyed writing poetry and had a large collection of her works. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and very active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML).Elizabeth is survived by her brother, David Sellars of Sage, AR; sister JoAnn Bambridge of Los Angeles, CA; son Michael Pfleger of Scottsdale AZ; daughters Christine Dixon and Sandra Knowlton of the Tulsa area, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband: Alexander Pfleger, and grandson: James Pfleger.
