Elizabeth Ann Mericle, age 87, passed away on February 26, 2026, in Oklahoma City.
Elizabeth was born on October 21, 1938, in Dallas to Kenneth and Dorothy Opsal. From an early age, she carried a gentle spirit and a caring heart that would define her life and the many lives she touched.
On March 1, 1959, she married her high school sweetheart, Larry, in Springfield. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and devotion to one another. Their marriage was a beautiful example of enduring love and partnership.
Elizabeth was a faithful member of Ranch Acres Baptist Church, where she found great joy in worship and fellowship. She especially loved to volunteer, always ready to lend a helping hand wherever there was a need. Serving others was not just something she did - it was who she was.
A devoted wife, mother, and sister, Elizabeth's home was a place of warmth and welcome. She nurtured her family with unconditional love, patience, and kindness. She had a special fondness for gardening, tending her flowers with care and pride. She also delighted in collecting trinkets, especially angels and rabbits, each piece carefully chosen and lovingly displayed.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband Larry Mericle and parents. Elizabeth is survived by her son Thomas Mericle and wife Kristi, son Andrew Mericle and wife Veronica, sister Marilyn Keltner and husband Ken, along with many friends and loved ones.
