Elizabeth Demaris Shaffer

Elizabeth Demaris Shaffer, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on October 21, 1938, Elizabeth lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished connections.
Elizabeth proudly served her country as a Navy Veteran, embodying strength and dedication throughout her life. She was a social soul who found joy in being surrounded by friends—whether hosting lively parties, going dancing, or simply sharing meaningful conversations. Her warmth and vibrant spirit touched everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Willard L. Shaffer II and Teri Shaffer; her grandchildren, John Battaglia, Matthew J. Shaffer, and Madelyn N. Shaffer; her great-grandchild, Grady Battaglia; and her sisters, Mary Sue Erwin and Doris Haley. Elizabeth is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, James L. Shaffer, with whom she shared 42 beautiful years of marriage after their wedding in February 1958. James was truly the love of her life, and Elizabeth never remarried, patiently waiting for the day they would be together again.
Elizabeth’s legacy is one of love, friendship, and devotion. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
