Ella Pauline Gamble's Obituary
Ella Pauline Gamble was born on Sunday, December 4, 1927 in Stroud, OK and passed away May 14, 2015 in Tulsa, OK. Ella Pauline grew up in Oklahoma and was one of six children born to AV and Pauline Rehm. She attended Avant High School where she was on the Girls Basketball team. After leaving school she continued to play basketball for the local Woman’s Basketball team in Avant. She married Odell Hoyt Gamble on February 22, 1954 and together they were married for 61 years. Both Odell and Ella worked and retired from Rockwell/Boeing in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ella enjoyed traveling, bowling, gardening, quilting, crocheting, cooking, putting puzzles together, playing cards and the lake. Ella also loved collecting and setting up her Department 56 Dickens village, because of her elaborate collection she was interviewed and featured on channel 6 news by Rick Wells. Ella Pauline was preceded in passing by her parents, AV and Pauline Rehm and by her sister, Lucile Morris-Johnson. Ella Pauline is survived by her husband Odell Hoyt Gamble; daughter Sue Blankenship and her husband Lee; son’s Richard McDowell and Walter Gamble and his wife Reva; granddaughter’s Paula Mowry and Tierza Gamble; grandson Bobby Gamble and his wife Amanda; great-granddaughter’s Caleigh Standfield and Samantha Gamble; great-grandson’s Cameron Standfield, Samuel Gamble and Connor Romero; sister’s Catherine Biggers, Helen Delk, Laura “Bootsy” Keith and her husband Maurice; brother Charles Rehm; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Life Graveside Memorial Service at 3:00 PM, Monday, May 18th 2015 at Floral Haven. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity.
