Ella Mae Whitley's Obituary
Ella Mae Whitley, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ella Mae was born on April 16, 1932 in Springtown, Arkansas to her parents, John Conder and Mary Lankford. She was the 3rd child out of 7 children. Ella Mae received her general education from Inola Public Schools. She married the love of her life Paul Whitley on July 29, 1950. Ella Mae was a proud member of the Grace Communion International Church. She was also involved with the Linnaeus Teaching Gardens of Tulsa as well as her Quilting Club. Ella Mae was a spunky, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother who above all cherished her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Ella Mae is survived by her daughter Carol Durkee (John), her son Tony Whitley (Susan), her sister Barbara Hamill, her brother Jim Conder, her sister Janie Stevens, her brother Ted Conder, her two granddaughters Amy Herrin (John) and Elizabeth Wyatt (Jarrod), her two grandsons Adam Graham and Ray Whitley Jr., her six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Linnaeus Teaching Gardens of Tulsa, Oklahoma. If flowers are order, in light of Ella Mae’s love for gardening, plants are requested.
