In addition, she leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Teresa and John Myers of Lancaster, PA.
Known for her beautiful quilts and sparkling sense of humor, Ellen Elizabeth (Myers) Werner was born in Lancaster, PA on Oct. 18, 1956. She married Blake Werner in Colorado Springs, CO on Dec. 20, 1980. Ellie relocated to Colorado in 1979 following the Three Mile Island incident in PA. She met Blake while taking classes at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs where she graduated with a degree in Business Communications.
Throughout her later years, Ellie always maintained a positive attitude that radiated in the many quilts that she made for friends and relatives. She maintained a dry, and sometimes sarcastic, sense of humor. A constant reader with a love of novels about the trials and triumphs of people from diverse backgrounds, she could make a story about going to the grocery store or the antics of her beloved pets a hilarious experience. Every new member of the family received a special quilt from Aunt Ellie. Everyone who knew her recognized the kindness and sensitivity embodied in her choices of fabrics and patterns. During her final years, she took deep joy in sharing her creative spark with her granddaughters who spent many long and treasured hours at Grandma Ellie’s dining room table cutting, painting, and putting together the latest project.
