Eloise M Duer's Obituary
Eloise Martin Duer 94, from Tulsa Oklahoma returned to her heavenly home on July 5th 2017. She passed away peacefully in Tennessee, near family. Eloise was born on September 26, 1922 to Henry Pleasant Taylor and Lou Emma Taylor (Streetman). Eloise married Quay Martin in 1943, and they settled in Fort Worth Texas, and later moved to Tulsa Oklahoma where they raised their two sons Bruce Quay Martin and Brent Dale Martin. The family also resided for many years in Broken Arrow. Eloise is preceded in death by Quay, her husband of over 40 years. Eloise married Roy George Duer in 1993 and continued to live in Tulsa. They were devoted Christians, and lived their faith together traveling to Missouri, Wisconsin and Hawaii where they shared their faith and support with the Hawaii Baptist Academy. Roy passed away in 2003. Eloise was known for her fierce independent spirit, her passion for her faith and church, with always showing a positive attitude and love for family. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Tulsa and member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 50 years. Eloise leaves two sons, Bruce Quay Martin and his wife Lynda of Denison, Texas; Brent Dale Martin and his wife Kim of Goodlettsville, Tennessee; in addition, she leaves four granddaughters and eleven great-grandchildren. Eloise is predeceased in death by her only grandson, Douglas Quay Martin, whom she adored. Eloise will be buried with Quay Martin in Floral Haven cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Memorial service and internment are private at the convenience of the family.
