Elvis Lewis Wheaton was born on May 25, 1957, in Jackson, MS (Hinds County), to the late Georgia Mae Wheaton and Cleaster Wheaton. Elvis joined Paradise Baptist Church in May of 2000. He served as a staff attorney for Legal Services of Eastern Oklahoma and later continued his career in private practice until he could no longer work. Elvis loved playing chess and enjoyed watching tennis, basketball, and football.
Elvis and Regina were married for 38 years and from this union had two children: Jemari Desean and Paige Ashleigh Wheaton. Elvis was called home on September 8, 2023. He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia, his father, Cleaster, his sisters Sara and Barbara, and his brother, Tommy Sr.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife, Regina; his son, Jemari (Britni); his daughter, Paige (Deion); his brother, Walter (Patricia); two sisters-in-law, Clara and Denise (Greg) Van Hosen; and three brothers-in-law, Harry (Wendy) Van Hosen, Jeffrey Van Hosen, and Clayton Scott, along with a host of relatives, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved Elvis dearly.
The family of Elvis Lewis Wheaton would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for all the prayers, calls, emails, expressions of sympathy, and love that have been bestowed upon them during a difficult time of bereavement. Moreover, a special thank you to Complete OK Hospice for their wonderful services, Rev. Holmes from Paradise Church, and Floral Haven Funeral Home.
