Emma Gene Whisenhunt's Obituary
Whisenhunt – Emma Gene, 97, died peacefully on Thursday, April 20, 2023, in Claremore, OK. She was born on March 30, 1926, in Roscoe, Texas to John and Ola Taylor. She was raised on a cotton farm in Sweetwater, Texas, after her family moved to California at the beginning of WW2, she graduated from North Hollywood High School.
She is proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Aubrey, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. They spent their retirement years, traveling with friends, visiting family, and square dancing. She was a member of Will Rogers United Methodist Church in Tulsa for 54 years. She was a cherished sister and caring mother. Mom, as she was affectionately known was a warm and beloved grandmother. She took great pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who have been a source of happiness over the years. She was known for her enthusiastic kindness and beautiful smile. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by family, friends, and neighbors. A private family service is planned. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the organization of your choice.
