Eric Wayne Blotevogel's Obituary
In remembrance of Eric Wayne Blotevogel, who, on the morning of August 23rd, 2012, passed from this life into his eternal joy in the arms of his Savior. Eric was born January 9th, 1952, in Centralia, IL, to parents Edgar Wilfred Blotevogel and Audrey Jewel Blotevogel. While still a child, Eric's family relocated to Tulsa, OK, where in 1970 he would graduate from Central High School. Eric married Nancy Ruth Williams in 1973, with which he raised three children, Phillip, Christopher, and Alicia. He enjoyed a thirty-year career as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service, and made a home in Mounds, OK. Eric will be remembered by all for his love of life and people, considering every stranger a friend he had yet to meet. He loved God, and for most of his adult life was active in church service in one manner or another. He loved his family, and was proud both of his heritage and his progeny. An avid baseball fan, Eric could often be seen wearing the red hat of the St. Louis Cardinals, and was always excited to share with others his passion for his team. Eric is survived by his father and mother, Edgar and Donna Blotevogel of Tulsa, his mother, Audrey Vigliotto of Salem Illinois, brother Terry of Tampa Florida. His children and their spouses, Phillip (Corianne), Christopher (Corina), and Alicia. Viewing will be held Sunday, August 26th at Floral Haven, beginning at 11, with services scheduled for Monday, August 27th at 3:00 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jackie Jamison and Rev. Jim Ramsey presiding. Burial will be at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow, Ok. Eric's family would like to express their gratitude to the family and friends that made his last few years as comfortable and enriching as possible, and would like to thank the St. Francis Hospice staff for their exceptional service and care. To our departed son, husband, and father, thank you for the all the memories, all the stories, and for the depth, vigor, and richness of life you displayed for us all. You will be missed and remembered.
