Erik Vaughn Hensley's Obituary
Erik Hensley, a resident of Tulsa, passed away on July 26, 2017 at the age of 30. Erik was born in Oklahoma City on July 24, 1987 and graduated from Tulsa Union High School in 2006. Erik loved to travel, especially with his close friends who he considered family. He had a great appreciation for different cultures and the artifacts of his travels lined his shelves. He found joy in the smallest of things like going out to garage sales, participating in nightly Jeopardy, watching OKC Thunder, and the Friday pizza ritual with his closest confidants. He held many roles but one of his fondest was being an uncle. The bond between Erik and Easton was extraordinary. They shared many memories including their most recent adventure to Disney World. Erik also adored his loving sister Sarah, who was the best sister he could have had. Erik loved his family and was a devoted uncle. Erik was a selfless, empathetic person and was genuinely happy for the success of others. His infectious smile will be missed by all. Erik had a love for life and radiated with positivity that will be missed by all the lives he touched. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jay Hensley and his grandparents, William and Ruby Boatwright. Survivors include his parents, Mike and Debbie Hensley; sister, Sarah Hensley; nephew, Easton Hensley; grandmother, Willa Hensley; closest friends and travel partners Trent Raleigh, Lou Gonsalves, and Al Armstrong; and many other close friends and numerous other family members.
