Ernest Fouts' Obituary
Ernest Fouts 96,(Ernie) passed away October 31, 2019 in Arkansas with his family by his side.Ernie was born September 2, 1923 on his families farm near Leon Kansas.He married his wife Ruth Tatum in 1948 after serving in the Army signal corps during World War II.They were Tulsa residents for many years.They had two daughters, Janice and Marilyn. Ernie worked for Martin Marietta Cement Plant in Tulsa for 38 years as a Lab Technician. He loved his work and was very active in the Union.He had many friends at work.He moved to Holiday Island, Arkansas in 2016 to be near his daughter Janice and her husband Greg when they retired to Eureka Springs, AR. He loved the beautiful Ozarks and was very happy in his residence. He loved OU football and never missed a game. He made lots of friends quickly. Everyone loved his smile, love of life, kindness and humor. He was always happy. He loved the outdoors and loved to garden and continued to do so on his patio at Peachtree assisted living. He also loved telling and writing stories of his past growing up in the Kansas farm life he loved so much.Ernie is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Jennie Fouts and his brother, Willard and his wife Ruth. He is survived by his daughters, Janice and her husband, Greg of Eureka Springs, AR., Marilyn Saunders of Hominy, OK. Two grandchildren, Colette and her husband, Jonathan Soltis and Michael Champlin and wife, Kaytee. Three great-grandchildren, Jenna Soltis, Helen and Molly Champlin and sister, Ethel Sauder of Wichita, KS. Funeral Service will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
