Ernest N. "Neil" Barnes' Obituary
Ernest N. “Neil” Barnes, 66, of Tulsa, died on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at his home. He was born in Ft. Smith, Arkansas on December 9, 1947, the son of Ernest Burl and Alma Nellie (Clem) Barnes. On April 16, 1970, he married Susan Briggs, in Garden Grove, California. Neil had many passions in life and lived life to the fullest. He loved to fish, camp, bowl and of course the game of golf. Music was also a big part of his life. He played guitar and even wrote a few songs. He loved getting together with his brother to entertain and sing the night away. He was also very good with woodworking. He could design and build anything he set his mind to. Neil is survived by his wife, Susan Barnes, two daughters, Angie Dare, and her husband, David, of Bixby, Oklahoma, Chrissie Gauthier, and her husband, Greg, of Mounds, Oklahoma, his mother, Alma Barnes, four grandchildren, Ashley Barnes, Brittany Dare, Meagan Gauthier, and Colby Gauthier, one great-grandson, Easton Miller, siblings, Jimmy Barnes, Cheryl Hiles, and Mark Barnes, and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father. Neil touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
