Ernest Clinton Watts' Obituary
Ernest Clinton ‘Clint’ Watts , age 95, a resident of Tulsa Oklahoma, passed from this life into the arms of his Lord on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, while receiving care at St. Johns Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Clint was born to Everett and Alpha (Moxley) Watts of Rogersville, Missouri on October 30, 1928.
Clint is survived by his loving wife, Golda (Kelley) Watts of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Children Mikle Watts of Rogers, Arkansas; Timothy Watts of Diana Beach, Florida; Adopted-sons Michael Thompson (Lisa) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Paul ‘Pete’ Thompson (Linda) of Stillwater, Oklahoma; and Sister Nell Duncan of Kansas City, Missouri. Grandchildren Joseph Watts (Lori) Fort Smith, Arkansas; James Thompson (Amber) Porter, Oklahoma; Elizabeth Thompson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, grandson Rhett Thompson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and many great-grandchildren.
Clint is preceded in death by his parents Everett and Alpha Watts of Rogersville, Missouri. Wife Norma Jean (Townlin) Watts of Fordland, Missouri; Wife Mildred Louise (Thompson) Watts of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Siblings Earl Ray Watts of Springfield, Missouri; Mildred Green of Rogersville, Missouri; and Nora Mae Jones of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Adopted-son Charles ‘Butch’ Thompson (Elaine) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Grandchild Kevin Watts of Nashville, Tennessee.
Clint, living on his parents farm learned to be a hard worker and achiever. After graduating from Rogersville Missouri High School, he married and moved to Tulsa Oklahoma and work for for his uncle in the glass business. There he quickly learned the trade and soon opened his own glass business in the area of Admiral and Sheridan where he was very successful. After many years, he sold out the business and restarted his love of farming near Checota Oklahoma. Here he raised cattle, peaches, and watermelons. Clint was a very generous man and found enjoyment with sharing his crops with family, neighbors, and friends. During this time he discovered Tulsa was in the need of a quality window and door manufacturing and he started a second glass business on 11th Street. Once again he become very successful and fulfilled another personal dream. After several years, he sold out and settled back on his farm. After working this dream, he decided to move back to Tulsa. From that time he had many years enjoying time with family and friends.
During all of his life he always had a focus to serve the Lord in any way he could. From his local church, missions, youth camps, and Christian colleges. He had a generous giving heart and the Lord blessed him throughout his life.
Family and friends visitation will he held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 4-7pm at Floral Haven Funeral Chapel in Broken Arrow.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 10am followed by graveside at Floral Haven Funeral Chapel in Broken Arrow, OK. A friend and family fellowship will follow in the Family Center.
