Erwin J. Wesel's Obituary
Mr. Erwin J. “Wes” Wesel, 84, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of Middletown, MD and St. James, NY went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 15. 2016. Wes was the husband of Alice (Sirnes) Wesel for 59 years. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 18, 1931 to the late Erwin and Florence Wesel. Wes was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked at many jobs throughout his life until his health finally made him retire at 84. He worked at Sperry, Grumman, Fairchild, Avenel and Maryland National Golf Course; he was the beloved Golf Pro at Sport Authority until he moved to Tulsa, OK. Anyone who loved golf in the Frederick area knew Wes. His last job was a greeter at Chick-fil-a in Tulsa, OK. Wes had the most valued work ethic, but most of all he loved people, which is why he treasured working. Wes was an avid golf player and is now in heaven playing on the most beautiful course. Wes also loved the game of baseball. As a young man, he tried out for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was the biggest Mets fan and is now up in heaven cheering them on. He was the loving husband to Alice (Sirnes) Wesel, the beloved father of Kevin Wesel and wife Barbara, Tulsa OK, Lisa Yonkoski and husband Joe, Middletown, MD, the loving grandfather to Robert King and wife Callie, Ocracoke, NC, Chad King and fiancé Rachel Myers, Sharpsburg, MD, Mark Wesel, Tulsa, OK, Sarah Roundtree and husband Travis, Prescott Valley, AZ, Rebekah Wesel, Rachel Wesel and Katie Wesel, Tulsa, OK, Dallas Yonkoski, Leesburg, VA, Miranda Yonkoski, Frederick, MD, Shelby Yonkoski and Couper Yonkoski, Middletown, MD, and 4 great-grandchildren, Lexi King, Joey Dow, Kai King and William Roundtree and one great- granddaughter Rosa due next month and 2 nieces. He will also be remembered by many special friends in Long Island, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Florence Wesel, his father and mother-in-law, Alf and Anna Sirnes, sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Robert Oppegard, and nephew Eric Oppegard. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Tulsa Bible Church with interment at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens..
