My Aunt Rene and I had a special bond, I spent a lot of time with her growing up and I loved her very much. She taught me how to paint my nails, and how a black skirt , white blouse and a pearl necklace was a classic look you could wear for any event. She would read the bible to my friends and I when we were teenagers. We thought church was boring back then, but we would listen to her because she explained it in a way that our teenage minds could comprehend and understand. I know it said I was supposed to share a memory, but it is so hard to do because there are so many special ones. 42 years ago, when I was 16, my aunt Rene somehow arranged a venue for me to have my first live performance; and because of her support and encouragement, I was able to achieve my lifelong dream of being a professional vocalist. She recorded the performance on a cassette tape, and the last time I spoke to her she told me she still had it after all this time. I will always be grateful to her for that. She always made me feel special and loved. I will miss you aunt Rene, but I know you are in the arms of the lord now and it brings me peace to know I will see you again someday.
Love you,
Tezshick
